PBS KIDS Ready To Learn is public broadcasting's response to a critical national educational
goal: all children will enter school Ready To Learn.
The service seeks to help America's children by providing
free community workshops, quality books, and teaching materials
for families, teachers, and childcare providers. The workshops'
goals are to train adults how to use non-violent, commercial-free
educational programming to prepare children for success in
school and throughout life.
Ready To Learn encourages
adults to:
Attend
face-to-face, free, instructional workshops.
Select
quality books and print material that reinforce the content
of
award winning children's programs.
Limit the
amount of television children watch.
Watch selected
parts of programs with the children to stimulate their
imagination, creativity, language skills, and foster a
love of learning.
